Mr Brightside

This was inspired by the music video for 'Mr. Brightside' by The Killers. I really liked the costumes in it and I thought the girl was really pretty, so I sort of took her hair (bad mistake), some inspiration from some of the costumes, and made this. I wanted it to be mostly about the costume... which was supposed to be a lot cooler and more funky... but... then I started shading and got carried away with that, and soon it was too late to add much to the costume. The background... eh... I tried to put a lot of detail into the textures of her clothes. I really like her corset, because the lines make it look as if it's more satin. The ribbon on it is cool too. The lace glove was just a bunch of squiggles with some blacked out as if they were a flower pattern. The hair was a bitch and I never want to shade curly, frizzy hair ever again. Oi. Her fishnet was last, and it turned out okay... I tried to get it to look as if it were really around her leg rather than just there. I rather like how it sits on her knee. Her striped stocking turned out awesome I think, and I even did some texture in there too. I used cross hatching, like the threads in pantyhose. You probably can't see it, but it did make a difference and I think it looks great. The background... eh... I just wanted to add something. This sort of reminds me of Sapphire from 'The Noble Dead Saga' by Barb and JC Hendee. I love to hate her... she's awesome.
